    The Beautiful town of Kota in Rajasthan, Situated on the bank of Chambal River, is home to some of the most beautiful temples in Rajasthan. The history of the town dates back to 12th century, and its known for it is characteristic style of painting.

    The main attraction of the town is the festival of Dussehra, which marks the victory of good over evil. This festival is usually celebrated in the month October in whole India, but the zest with which it is celebrated in Kota is unmatched. Kota has many tourist destinations like Chambal Garden that is situated on the bank of Chambal River and has some beautiful scenery. Another place to visit here is Maharao Madho Singh museum that contains a collection of Rajput paintings, armory and sculptures. Kota barrage, a dam is another tourist destination, and is a part of the irrigation canal system. The government museum in the Brijvilas Palace exhibits a variety of manuscripts in Sanskrit, rare coins, Hadoti sculptures, etc.

    One of the most beautiful places in the town is Jag Temple that is situated on a little island in an artificial tank called Kishore Sagar. This temple was built in 1740 by one of the Maharanis of Kota. It is one of the most visited places in the town because of its picturesque beauty. There are a number of hotels including some the most beautiful and grand Heritage Hotels in and around Kota, where the travelers can get the experience of living it big, but the travelers also have options of economy hotels suiting their budget. So a tour to Kota in Rajasthan is a journey filled with the spirit joy, royalty and holiness.
