The Rajasthan Forts and Monuments are distinctively unique replica of the Rajput royalty. The rulers personified their power and prosperity chivalrously, by building majestic citadels in Rajasthan. The strong fortresses were strategically planned to defend the territories from the enemy state. There were huge niches carved in the outer fortification for sepoys (soldiers) to keep a watch. The Rajput architectural style is inspired by Shilp Shastra (Indian Architecture) and Mughal architecture.
The Rajasthan forts incorporates many other big and small Mahal (Palaces) for the royal family, mandir (temples), diwan-I- aam, (courtyard for general gathering), diwan- I- khas (royal courtyard), step well (water reservoir), jharokhas, and bagh chatris (gardens) were other fascinating features.
