The Sita Mata sanctuary in Rajasthan is a the dry deciduous forests of bamboo, and is about 108 km from Udaipur. The Sanctuary has splendid variety of animals, which are rarely found anywhere in the whole Rajasthan. It is spread on the Aravelli hiils and Vindhyachal mountain ranges, and is a natural get away for the tourists.
The Sita Mata sanctuary is a perfect spot for animal lovers, as it has a variety of animals including jackal, fox, jungle cat, leopard, hyena, wild bear, four horned antelope, porcupine, spotted deer and Nilgai. An eye-catching scene after sunset in the Sanctuary is of the flying squirrels that can be spotted gliding from tree to tree, and during the daytime they hide in the hollows of the forest. These squirrels can be easily spotted on the leafless trees in the months of February and March, when most of the trees are shedding their leaves. In this time a person can easily see a number of animals that are not that easy to locate during rest of the year.
In this reserve 50% of the trees are teak trees, which are the only ones in the whole country of any building value, and this expanse also has other variety of plants and trees including salar, tendu, amla and bamboo. All these things together make the place an intriguing one. So a tourist traveling in Rajasthan must visit this place of woods, wildlife and beauty to refresh oneself.
