Safety Tips
Leave valuables and important papers, such as jewellery and passports
in your hotel's safe deposit box. Never leave these items unattended
in your room.
Always keep your important belonging along with you or at any
safe places like hotel vault. There is strong possibility of loss
of important articles in case you carelessly leave them at public
place.
If you have a weak stomach, stick to bottled mineral water, tea,
coffee, beer for liquid intakes. Avoid eating spicy Indian food,
as stomach linings need time to acclimatize. Trust fresh fruit
whose skin you can peel off or remove.
Please remember to remove to your footwear when visiting a place
or worship. Some Jain temples and Hindu temples also do not permit
leather bags. If you wish to help beggars, do so by giving them
alms to a charitable organization.
Most museums in India are closed on Mondays and site museums
on Fridays.
Tips are not necessary when the hotels have the component of
service tax. When this is not done the worldwide rule of approximately
10 % applies. If you are in a big group and the food bill is high,
about 5% will do.
The porter who takes your baggage is usually tipped between Rs.
10 to Rs. 20 depending on the quantity.
The electric current in India is 220 / 250 Volts and 50 cycles.
(It is AC practically everywhere).
